104 days of hunger strike: Palestinian detainee’s life in danger
Groups sound alarm regarding health of Palestinian political prisoner after 104 days of hunger strike (as at Sat 4th Jan)
RAMALLAH, Saturday, Jan 04, 2020 (WAFA) — The Palestinian Prisoners Commission and the Prisoner Society today sounded the alarm regarding the health of administrative detainee Ahmad Zahran who has been on hunger strike for 104 days in Israeli jails against his illegal incarceration.
Zahran is held in ‘administrative detention’; without charge or trial and based on “secret” evidence not available even to his defence lawyer.
They said Zahran, 42, from the Ramallah-area village of Deir Abu Mishaal, is suffering from headaches, arthritis, fatigue, and dehydration and has lost more than 30 kilograms of his weight.
He has been trying to appeal his administrative detention order for release from prison but the courts keep delaying him a hearing.
