Feeling the vibration all the way to Tel Aviv: The 12-tonne monster that is destroying Gaza

The IDF uses old Armoured Personnel Carriers loaded with explosives that are used remotely to blow up buildings in Gaza. The solution was developed after the APC disaster in Shuja’iyya [when an APC was hit by Hamas fire which penetrated the old-technology armour -tr]. The explosions are heard as far as greater Tel Aviv area over 60 kms away and destroy Hamas infrastructure

The IDF has recently carried out large-scale explosions throughout the Gaza Strip, and the echoes of the explosions are also clearly heard in Gush Dan [Greater Tel Aviv] and in the centre of the country. In recent days, the IDF has been using a new operational method — dated armoured personnel carriers loaded with tonnes of explosives and operated by remote control, in order to avoid endangering the lives of combatants.

The remote-controlled armoured personnel carriers, which the IDF calls “suicide APCs,” move toward defined targets and are detonate in a controlled manner. In this way, the forces manage to hit high-rise buildings, including Hamas headquarters, battle positions, booby-traps with explosives, and even weapons depots. Just one explosion creates a particularly powerful blast wave — and sometimes even one that can be heard at great distances, including in large regions in the centre of the country.

The use of this system came after the Golani Brigade’s armoured personnel carrier disaster in Shuja’iyya, and since then it has become a method of operation that enables the opening of roads, the blowing-up of buildings, and the eradication of enemy infrastructure — without exposing the forces to a direct danger. The IDF is currently acting according to the instructions of the political echelon, and is deepening the attacks in Gaza — including the demolition of dozens of buildings and security infrastructure.

Senior Surgeon Danny Rosin shared the above item and wrote:

The Hebrew language is evolving day by day. More and more words become code names. It is enough to say them — and then everything is clear, everything is justified, there is no more room for doubts, criticism is silenced.

“Terrorist” is a code name for a Palestinian who has lost the right to live. There is no real need for him to participate in terrorist activities. Knesset Member Ayman Odeh is a terrorist.

“Infrastructure” is a code name for a place that has lost its justification to remain. We will never know exactly what was there, maybe a Kalashnikov and thongs (flip-flops), maybe it is the kindergarten which the grandson of a Hamas activist attends. The right to blow up is automatically granted.

And online M’aariv added: Operating diligently: Thousands of buildings have been demolished in recent days all over the Gaza Strip.
