RAMALLAH, November 03, 2019 (WAFA) — Israeli army embarked today on levelling a Palestinian-owned land near the town of Beit Ummar, to the north of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

Mohammad Awad, a local anti-settlements activist, told WAFA that illegal Israeli force accompanied by heavy machinery proceeded to raze about 400 dunums of Palestinian-owned land near the town, aimed at opening a settler-only road.

He said the land razed belongs to a local Palestinian farmers from the town, and is planted with almonds and grapes.

Under alleged security pretexts, Israeli occupation authorities have at times seized Palestinian lands to open settler-only roads, with a view of serving the Israeli settler population while excluding the indigenous Palestinian population from using them.
