Israel: We can kill as many as we want; the US should S-T-F-U
By Orly Noy (Translated by Sol Salbe)
The Israeli army exterminates Palestinians on an almost daily basis. The number of non-combatant Palestinians who are shot to death by the army is dizzying, the Israeli public hardly ever hears about them, and only the human rights organisations continue to document and record.
Harassment of Palestinian journalists is also far from being or exceptional. But this time it turned out that they murdered a particularly well-known journalist, who was also an American citizen. After the automatic tractate of lies was exposed, the army actually openly admits that a soldier shot Shireen Abu Akleh, who was wearing a vest marking her as a journalist with the word PRESS in large lettering, through a scope that magnifies four times (!!), and still refuses to take responsibility for the murder and open an investigation.
Since this time the murdered person is a US citizen, the Americans could not remain mum, as they usually do and suggested to Israel with an almost British politeness that the army “refresh” the rules of engagement in the West Bank. Not that they should stop murdering innocent people, God forbid, just that they should try a little harder, if it’s not too difficult, if possible, so as to avoid dragging the superpower into engaging in another such shameful business. And Israel, as Israel is wont to, responded with a characteristically fuckheaded response: no one will tell us how many, who, when, where and how to kill. And that’s the end of the matter.
