SALFIT, West Bank, April 12, 2020 (WAFA)

A Palestinian worker showing coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms was dumped today by Israeli settlers outside the illegal colonial settlement of Burkan, near the town of Salfit in the occupied West Bank, said Abdullah Kmail, the Governor of Salfit.

Kmail said the worker, who had not left his workplace in the settlement for several weeks, was found dumped near the Jewish settlement without being offered treatment by the Israeli employer. He said the teams of the Ministry of Health managed to arrive at the location were the worker was thrown. He was picked up by the teams and rushed to a safe haven before undergoing the coronavirus test.

The governor condemned the barbaric Israeli practice of throwing Palestinian workers with coronavirus symptoms at Israeli checkpoints or outside the colonial settlements.

In another incident on March 24, a Palestinian worker exhibiting coronavirus symptoms was found dumped by Israeli authorities at the Beit Sira checkpoint, near Ramallah, that connects Israel and the occupied West Bank.

The incident, recorded in a video that went viral on the social media at that time, was met with outright condemnations by rights groups and government officials in Palestine and abroad.
