Netanyahu has no intention of ending the war and the state of emergency
It is clear to all that anyone who wishes to defend their innocence by giving lengthy testimony at their trial would be unable at the same time to continue serving as prime minister. But let us be clear: A Netanyahu testimony at the height of the war will be another victory picture of his madness. Whether he testifies (he won’t) or not, his madness will prevail.

Benjamin Netanyahu will never testify at his trial. Not in December, not in February, not during the war nor after it, if it ever ends. Fascist MK Avichai Boaron said in an interview on Channel 14 that Trump’s pro-fascist appointees (referred to in Israel as “pro-Israel”: Rubio as Secretary of State, Huckabee the messianic evangelist as Ambassador to Israel and Fox anchor for the Defence Department) will greatly help Israel in its establishment process. That’s what he said. Israel, it turns out, is in the process of being established. Indeed, the Netanyahu regime sees itself as establishing a new Israel, whose establishment requires the simultaneous destruction of the democratic rule of law. The regime also has a different perception of the history of the Jewish people: murderous antisemitism (Nazi and Arab) is eternal, and therefore the process of establishing Jewish sovereignty under the regime’s tutelage will also be eternal. Hence, the war, which is the main expression of the process of that sovereignty, will never end. The regime in Israel is revolutionary and revolutions abhor routine. Netanyahu will not be able to testify after the war in some relaxed future routine, because “after the war” will never come. And he will not testify during the war that he, his regime and the huge segment of the Israeli public that supports them, reject the authority of the law enforcement system to prosecute him.
The request to postpone the testimony is a forepay move intended for PR purposes. So that he could then say to his fascists: Too bad, I asked them nicely. But now it going to go badly. The judicial system has teamed up with the defence establishment in an attempt to overthrow what Netanyahu calls “the rule of Right-wing,” and therefore the “right-wing powers that be” will be forced to finally dismantle this system — the enemy of the new Israel that he is establishing.
If we base ourselves on a comprehensive account of Netanyahu’s conduct since the beginning of his current term we can safely assume that he’s no intention to attend court. He has no intention to appear in court four days a week, eight hours a day, for weeks on end. He would prefer not to testify at all, thereby delegitimising the trial and the verdict that will be reached. There’s no telling what he’ll do. Dictators, not being subject to the rule of law, are unpredictable. Netanyahu will take the attempt to force him to testify without delay lying down. He’d turn up both the volume and extremism of his savage incitement against the judicial system. Perhaps doing so from within the Knesset’s chamber itself. He has already broken the norms, crossed the Rubicon and cannot go back. The Bibists won’t let him anyway, and Trump will support him.
The absurdity is that it is clear to all that anyone who wishes to defend their innocence by giving lengthy testimony at their trial would be unable at the same time to continue serving as prime minister. As we all know, the absurd claim that it can be done can be traced back to Netanyahu himself. When the court accepted his argument, it humbly bowed to his madness. As you wish, Sir. Now the court, by virtue of its subordination to the rule of law, is forced to insist on enforcing this madness. But let us be clear: A Netanyahu testimony at the height of the war will be another victory picture of his madness. Whether he testifies (he won’t) or not, his madness will prevail.
